Why use acoustic panels?

Acoustic panels absorb sound and reduce echos and reverberation. Thus increasing the quality of sound and the clarity of speech or music. As detailed in this reference where an acoustic engineer describes the design problems of concert hall acoustics. Thus good acoustic design contributes to a peaceful environment, not just indoors but also outside, especially in built up areas where unwanted noise reverberates off buildings. At work acoustic panels are invaluable for reducing background noise in shared office spaces. In a meeting room or video conference room acoustic panels vastly increase the quality of the speech. Outside acoustic panels absorb rail, traffic and other unwanted noise to promote a peaceful environment.

The most versatile sound absorbing panels available

Quietstone Light is a rigid, durable panel made from recycled glass. The panels are suitable for interior and exterior uses especially where an element of impact resistance is required. They come in pre-cut sizes but can also be easily cut or shaped on site. Quietstone Light can be pigmented or treated with a range of finishes to suit your individual requirements. As well as being a magnificent sound absorbing product our acoustic panels are non combustible, chemically inert and non fibrous. Panels can be either mechanically fixed with screws or detailed fixings or bonded with our own tile adhesive. As we are the manufactures of Quietstone Light a range of sizes are available including custom options.

Quietstone Light is made from recycled glass. This also means that like many of our products they have a low carbon footprint and can contribute towards improving the sustainability of a project and increase the BREEAM rating for new buildings.

Sound Absorption

Sound absorption or noise deadening, is one of the key properties of Quietstone. This is because the structure of the material is designed to take in and absorb the sound energy. This unwanted sound is then lost or transmitted away thus ‘deadening’ the noise.

Sound Insulation

Sound Insulation is one of the key properties of Quietstone. Whether your requirement is for an indoor or outdoor noise barrier we have a range of products suitable for any sound insulation project. We supply barrier sheets for partition walls, ceiling systems and lining material for marine engine rooms.

Fire Proofing

Fireproof is one of the key properties of Quietstone. Fire protection is a valuable property required in a range of applications, from tunnel linings to marine engine rooms.
